Police Seek Man Who Attempted to Rob Hotel

Police are looking for a man who attempted to rob a South San Francisco hotel Friday night. The suspect entered the business, which is located at 120 Hickey Blvd., at 9:45 p.m., police said. The suspect spoke with the owners of the hotel and demanded money from the register. In doing so, the suspect motioned to indicate that there was a weapon in the pocket of his sweatshirt, but no weapon was seen at any point during the robbery, according to police.

When the victim told the suspect that police were on their way, the suspect fled on foot towards Camaritas Avenue, police said. The suspect is described as a clean-shaven white man in his late twenties with brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with his hood covering his hair and jeans.

The South San Francisco Police Department is asking that anyone with information regarding this incident call the police department at (650) 877-8900 or the anonymous tip line at (650) 952-2244.
