Police: South San Francisco Crash Caused by Drunk Driver

A Modesto man was arrested in connection to the wreck, police said.

South San Francisco, CA– A man was arrested in South San Francisco Monday evening after allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and causing a traffic collision, according to police.

Police said officers responded to the 1200 block of El Camino Real around 5 p.m. on reports of a two-vehicle collision.

During an investigation of the incident, officers discovered Modesto resident Mark Mata Anthony had been driving one of the vehicles and allegedly showed signs and symptoms of being under the influence.

According to police, he was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail on suspicion of multiple offenses.

Police said the driver of the second vehicle sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for further evaluation.
