Police Want DA to File Charges for False South San Francisco Report

Cops say they determined a man filed a false police report last month when he claimed he had been robbed.

Police in South San Francisco are asking the district attorney to file charges against a man for filing a false police report last month, police announced Monday.

A man reported an early morning strong-arm robbery in the vicinity of Chestnut Avenue and Treeside Court at 6:40 a.m. on Oct. 11, according to police.

Police said the man claimed that a suspect demanded money then punched him in the face. Investigators later determined that the report had no merit, police said.

They’re now asking the San Mateo County District Attorney to charge the man with filing a false police report.
