On Saturday, April 22, 2017, at approximately 4:26 p.m., San Bruno Police Officers responded to the 1200 block of El Camino Real regarding the report of a theft at a local department store. Officers quickly located a vehicle that the suspects in this case were using to flee the scene. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but it failed to yield and fled the area. A short time later, the same vehicle was involved in a traffic collision in South San Francisco and the driver had fled on foot. The driver was subsequently detained by South San Francisco Police. A subsequent investigation determined that a robbery had been committed at the department store in San Bruno and the subject detained, twenty-eight year old San Francisco resident Royce Colvin, had participated in the commission of this crime. Colvin was arrested by the San Bruno Police Department for robbery and using a vehicle to evade police officers. The South San Francisco Police Department also arrested Colvin for related crimes that occurred in their city.
