Seeking for Volunteers to help distribute food to those in need!

Peninsula Food Runners Organization is a non profit that services San Mateo and Santa Clara County. The organization’s mission is to reduce food waste and preserve our environment by diverting good donated food to those in need. In order to accomplish this, we rely heavily on volunteers.

Our volunteers pick up excess perishable and prepared food from donors such as restaurants, caterers, bakeries, hospitals, event planners, corporate cafeterias, etc.. and deliver it directly to shelters and neighborhood programs that feed the hungry. Our volunteers deliver 20,000 meals to people in need every week.

We are looking for volunteers who can afford 1-2 hour a week. Accomplish your volunteer requirements (corporate or high school) while driving home or running an errants. Participants determine the available food runs that is convenient for them. A win-win for volunteers, donors, recipients and environment.
