Sex Offender Touches Girl 'Inappropriately' In South San Francisco, Police Say
BREAKING: The man, a transient on the Peninsula, is now facing multiple felony charges including failure to register as a sex offender.

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- Police in South San Francisco have arrested a transient man who allegedly made inappropriate contact with a child over the weekend. According to police, at 3:10 p.m. Tuesday officers located and arrested 63-year-old transient Anthony Miron near the area where the crime allegedly occurred.
According to police, they were called around 4 p.m. Saturday after a girl reported that she'd been inside a business on Grand Avenue when she was approached by a strange man who tried to start up a conversation.
"The subject then inappropriately touched the juvenile on her leg and face," police said. "The juvenile felt uncomfortable and left the business."

After following up on some leads, South San Francisco police say they identified Miron as a suspect in the case. Miron, a registered sex offender, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of numerous offenses including failure to register and taken to the San Mateo County Main Jail in Redwood City, police said.
According to the California Megan's Law website, Miron was convicted in 1984 of assault with intent to commit rape.

San Mateo County jail booking records indicated Wednesday that Miron was jailed in Redwood City on $100,000 bail.
