SF: Recipes from The City By The Bay Cooking Class with Parties That Cook - September 12, 2015
Join us at our North Beach kitchen and event space for a hands-on cooking class featuring recipes with San Francisco origins.
Living in San Francisco, we welcome early autumn as the beginning of our true summer. Tomatoes and peppers continue to flood our farmer’s markets, and we’re picking Meyer lemons well into late November. The Parties That Cook menu you’ll prepare together in this hands-on cooking class features quintessentially San Francisco ingredients. We’ll welcome with you a bottle of locally brewed Anchor Steam beer (or a glass of wine if you prefer) and we’ll kick off with an amazing French Onion Dip with Homemade Sourdough Bread Sticks, because, what’s more San Francisco than sourdough bread? You’ll make our version of Palace Hotel’s Green Goddess Salad, originally created by the iconic San Francisco hotel in 1923 in honor of the star of William Archer’s play “The Green Goddess”. You’ll learn how to make an incredibly rich and uniquely San Francisco Cioppino as our main course (it pairs amazing with sourdough bread!) We’ll round things out with a seasonal Meyer Lemon Olive Oil Cake with Blueberry Ice Cream. Aren’t you ready to embrace the San Francisco way of cooking? Bring a bottle of wine to share with the group - this is going to be a great party!.
