South San Francisco Clerk's Office Now Offering Passport Services

The SSF city clerk's office is now designated as a 'Passport Acceptance Facility.'

City of South San Francisco:The City of South San Francisco is pleased to announce the City Clerk's office, located at City Hall, 400 Grand Avenue, is now designated as a Passport Acceptance Facility and will accept Passport Applications on behalf of the U.S. Department of State beginning today.

"This is a wonderful and logical addition to our City Clerk's office as the mission of this office is to interface between our residents and local government," said South San Francisco Mayor Karyl Matsumoto. "By providing citizens with passport services, this further demonstrates the desire for our City to make it as easy as possible to obtain essential government documents."

The City Clerk's office will offer the following passport services by appointment only:

  • First-time passports
  • Passport renewals for passports issued before the applicant was 16 years of age
  • Renewals for expired passports issued more than 15 years ago
  • Replacements for lost, stolen, or damaged passports

Passport services at the South San Francisco City Clerk's office are open to all citizens - you do not have to be a South San Francisco resident to obtain a passport. Appointments can be made online through the City Clerk's Passport Services webpage at https://www.ssf.net/departments/passport-services.

In addition to offering Passport services, the South San Francisco City Clerk's office also provides Notary Services to the public Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. For more information on the City's Notary Services, please visit https://www.ssf.net/departments/city-clerk/notary-services.
