Southwest Airlines Computer Failure Causing Delays at Airports
The airline is urging passengers to arrive about 2 hours ahead of their departure time, but Bay Area airports are not reporting delays.

A computer failure at Southwest Airlines is causing delay flights and long lines at several airports throughout the country, but in the Bay Area, it was business usual.
The ticketing computer failure forced agents to issue handwritten tickets for all departing flights.
As of noon, the Southwest ticket lines at San Francisco International Airport were about 20 to 30 minutes long. At Oakland International, however, there was no significant increase in wait time.

The Texas-based airline confirmed the issue and asked all U.S. passengers to arrive at least two hours ahead of their scheduled departure Sunday.
The airline blamed the delays on “technology issues, which are requiring us to process customers on their individual itineraries.”
