SSF Man Accused of DUI in Local Motorcycle Wreck

Police say the man was arrested while he was treated at a local hospital.

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA – A 34-year-old man was arrested over the weekend in South San Francisco after crashing a motorcycle he was riding while allegedly DUI, according to police.

Police said officers responded to the 100 block of Harbor Way just before 12:30 a.m. Saturday on reports of a traffic collision.

"Officers located a motorcyclist that had lost control of his motorcycle in the roadway," police said in a news release, adding that the man had sustained non-life threatening injuries.

That man, identified as South San Francisco resident Franco Demarlo, was transported to a hospital for treatment and further investigation by police revealed he was allegedly under the influence of alcohol during the accident, officials said.

Police said he was placed under arrest and released to the hospital staff.
