SSF Man Caught Driving DUI, With A 2-Year-Old In Tow: Cops

Police say the man had a toddler "who was not secured in a child safety seat as required by law."

SAN BRUNO, CA — A 21-year-old man was arrested over the weekend in San Bruno on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol while also having a 2-year-old not safely secured in his car, police said Tuesday. What's more, police say the man was traveling at "a high rate of speed."

An officer pulled over South San Francisco resident Lisandro Rodriguez Acosta at 10:53 p.m. Sunday after seeing him allegedly speeding south on El Camino Real, according to police.

"A subsequent investigation revealed that the driver of the vehicle... had been driving while under the influence of alcohol," police said in a news release.

Officers also found a 2-year-old child who was not secured in a child safety seat in the vehicle, police said.

The man was arrested and booked into San Mateo County Jail on suspicion of DUI, child endangerment and driving while having a license suspended for a prior DUI, according to police.
