SSF Police Swear In New Officers, Dispatchers, Service Tech
Plus, three people received promotions.

From The City of South San Francisco:Family, friends and colleagues gathered for a special badge and swearing in ceremony Tuesday morning in the City Council Chambers as South San Francisco Police Chief, Jeff Azzopardi, promoted three officers, reclassified a police service technician, and welcomed five new officers, two dispatchers, and a police service technician.
"We're thrilled at the number of people that have joined our growing police force, many of them with local ties that are eager to serve their community," said Chief Azzopardi. "In addition, I'm proud of the men and women who were promoted as their commitment to this department is unwavering and these promotions are greatly deserved."
The following people were sworn into the South San Francisco Police Department (SSFPD):
- Officer Conor McGuire - attended Notre Dame De Namur University and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. He recently graduated from the College of San Mateo police academy and is currently in the SSFPD Field Training Program.
- Officer Vincent Meschi - attended Skyline College where he earned his Associate in Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and Social/Natural Science. Officer Meschi is continuing his education in hopes of obtaining a Bachelor's degree from American Public University.
- Officer Kurtis Milgrom - Officer Milgrom was a member of the 82ndAirborne Division 1505 Parachute Regiment Company and he held positions of Airborne Infantry and a Station Commander for the San Mateo Recruiting Office. Milgrom was stationed in Georgia, Alaska, North Carolina, and two tours in the Middle East. He recently graduated from the College of San Mateo police academy and is currently in the SSFPD Field Training Program.
- Officer David Vazquez - earned an Associate of Science degree in Network Engineering from Skyline College. He decided to change careers, attend the police academy and is now working for the SSFPD. He is also fluent in Spanish.
- Officer Jonathan Yoshida - graduated from the College of San Mateo police academy, after spending more than a decade working for several companies in customer service and management roles.
In addition, Chief Azzopardi welcomed the following people to the South San Francisco Police Department:

- Dispatcher Daniel Ortiz - graduated from San Francisco State University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies.
- Dispatcher Lindsey Passmore - attended San Francisco State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Education and then earned her Masters of Science degree in Applied Gerontology from Bruneau University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.
- Per Diem Dispatcher Tracy Weber - attended the University of California Santa Barbara where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Law and Society. As a per diem dispatcher, she works various dispatch shifts to help cover our staffing needs. She also works per diem for the Burlingame and Atherton Police Departments.
- Police Service Technician Jordan Alvarenga - graduated from Sonoma State University with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science. Jordan is bilingual and plans to become a police officer with SSFPD in the future.
Chief Azzopardi promoted the following people.
- Lieutenant Scott Campbell to Captain. During his career, Captain Campbell held specialized roles as field training officer, patrol supervisor, patrol watch commander, detective, detective sergeant and Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) commander. Scott is a long tenured member of the North-Central Regional SWAT Team, where he has risen from operator to team leader and currently a highly-respected tactical commander.
- Corporal Fahmida Murphy to Sergeant. Sergeant Murphy has held several positons within the SSFPD, including school liaison officer and Explorer advisor, the Downtown Bicycle Patrol unit, and is currently a team leader on the Police Department's Crisis Negotiation team. Throughout her career, she has been very active in numerous community events and outreach programs, with an emphasis on building positive relationship with our community's youth.
- Officer Steven Massoni to Corporal. Corporal Massoni has been in law enforcement since 2011, and began working for the SSFPD in 2014. In 2018, he was selected to serve as a detective in the Criminal Investigation Bureau where he was assigned to investigate gangs, narcotics, and commercial burglaries.
Lastly, Lexis Ocampo was reclassified as a Police Service Technician.
