Fans of Masterpiece’s “Downton
Abbey” will enjoy the “Country Estate Evening” as Filoli steps back in time
with music and costume of the 1920s.
Visitors will be able to stroll through the historic House and Garden in
their period dress (optional) or don a fedora and come to see those who have
dressed for the occasion. This event is
a rare chance to experience what is considered one of the world’s most
beautiful gardens at twilight.
Catered hors d’oeuvres and drinks
including, white wine, beer, iced tea, soda and sparkling water will be served
by Filoli staff and volunteers in period dress reminiscent of Filoli’s 1920s
household staff. Live music will be
provided by The 22nd Street Regulars which is a San Francisco jazz ensemble
performing New Orleans
and Tin Pan Alley style jazz from the 1920s.
The Filoli
Garden and Gift Shop will
also be open.
