Threats Made to South San Francisco Schools: Police

The validity of the threats has not been confirmed, but extra security measures are being put in place at the schools for the week.

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA- The South San Francisco Police Department and the South San Francisco Unified School District this morning are investigating an anonymous letter reporting alleged threats made against students and staff at South San Francisco and El Camino high schools.

Police reported the alleged threats on Wednesday. The author of the letter expressed concern and wanted to make officials aware of the possible threats to the campuses, police said.

The validity of the threats has not been confirmed, but extra security measures are being put in place at the schools for the remainder of the week, police said.

Both campuses will remain open today and through the end of the week. Parents will be permitted to keep their children at home, but they must notify the school office of the excused absence.
