BRISBANE, CA — The three-alarm brush fire burning Thursday on San Bruno Mountain in Brisbane has been contained, but crews will continue battling the blaze overnight.

First reported at 10:55 a.m., the slow-moving fire had burned 11 acres by Thursday evening. By 2 p.m., it had been 60 percent contained, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office. It has been fought by multiple agencies, including aircraft.

Brisbane Elementary School and Lipman Middle School were ordered to shelter in place, NBC Bay Area reported. No injuries have been reported.

Voluntary evacuations have been lifted as of 1:05 p.m., after initially being issued for Humboldt Road, Kings Road, Margaret Avenue, Paul Avenue and San Mateo Lane. The Brisbane Police was handling the evacuations, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.

Firefighters with Cal Fire and the North County Fire Authority are on site Thursday evening.
