TRAFFIC ALERT: Golden Gate Lanes Restricted for Tuesday's Morning Commute

Transportation District officials are warning commuters that since a moveable barrier was damaged, lanes will be impacted. [breaking]

BAY AREA, CA — If your commute normally takes you along the Golden Gate Bridge, be prepared for some potential traffic impacts on Tuesday morning. Due to damage to part of the middle barrier, officials say the configuration won't be changing for commuters.

Here's the full alert from the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway & Transportation District:

Due to damage to a section of the moveable median barrier, the Golden Gate Bridge will remain in a 3 lanes southbound / 3 lanes northbound configuration through tomorrow morning's commute. The lanes will not be shifted to the usual 4 lanes southbound / 2 lanes northbound pattern.

Golden Gate Bridge engineers are working on the issue and hope to have it resolved during the day on Tuesday, January 3rd. The cause of the damage has not yet been determined.
