'Unseasonably Hot Temps' Bound For South San Francisco: Record Highs Expected Around Bay Area

NWS officials are calling for a "rapid warming trend" around the region this week. Find out when temperatures will peak. (breaking)

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Weather officials are warning Bay Area residents to prepare for some unseasonably hot weather in the coming days. The "rapid warming trend" is expected to peak on Tuesday, but temperatures will likely remain above normal through the end of the work week, "and perhaps into the weekend," according to the National Weather Service. Currently, it's expected to remain dry through Halloween.

As for South San Francisco in particular, here's what you can expect weather-wise through Sunday:

Monday
Sunny, with a high near 79. Calm wind becoming northeast 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.

Monday Night
Clear, with a low around 60. North northwest wind 5 to 9 mph becoming calm.

Sunny, with a high near 81. East northeast wind 8 to 10 mph.

Tuesday Night
Clear, with a low around 60. West northwest wind 8 to 13 mph becoming light west after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 18 mph.
