'Well Below Average' Temps Expected In SSF: Weekend Weather Forecast

National Weather Service officials say there's a slight chance of showers in part of the Bay Area this weekend.

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Planning your weekend around the Bay Area? Though we're nearing summer, you can still expect some cooler temperatures.

"Temperatures will remain well below seasonal averages, especially inland, through the upcoming weekend," the National Weather Service said on Friday. "In addition, there is a slight chance of showers across the northern portion of the region Saturday with possible thunderstorms on Sunday afternoon."

Come next week, a gradual warming trend is expected.

Sunny, with a high near 62. Breezy, with a west wind 15 to 24 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph.

Mostly clear, with a low around 50. Breezy, with a west northwest wind 16 to 23 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph.

Saturday
Mostly sunny, with a high near 61. West wind 11 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.

Saturday Night
Partly cloudy, with a low around 50. West northwest wind 15 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.

Sunday
A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 57. West wind around 16 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Sunday Night
Mostly clear, with a low around 49.

Monday
Sunny, with a high near 61.
