First Day of School In South City

The first day of school will be here before we know it.

In fact, there's just a week before students in the South San Francisco Unified School District begin their first day of class. 

Here are all the important dates you need to know for the upcoming 2012-13 school year.

IMPORTANT DATES FOR THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT:

• First Day of School: Wednesday, Aug. 15
• Labor Day Holiday: Monday, Sept. 3
• Staff Development Day (no school): Thursday, Nov. 1
• Veterans Day Holiday: Monday, Nov. 12
• Thanksgiving Holidays: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Nov. 21-23
• First Day of Winter Vacation: Friday, Dec. 21 (minimum day for elementary schools)
• First Day Back from Winter Vacation: Monday, Jan. 7
• Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday: Monday, Jan. 21
• School Holiday: Friday, Feb. 15
• President's Day Holiday: Monday, Feb. 18
• Non-Student Day for Elementary: Friday, March 1
• Spring Break: March 29-April 5
• Memorial Day Holiday: Monday, May 27
• Last Day of School: Thursday, May 30
