Wind Surfer Rescued From San Francisco Bay

A Good Samaritan is credited with the rescue.

A wind surfer was rescued from San Francisco Bay Friday evening after the person injured their leg, U.S. Coast Guard officials said.

The injury was reported at 5:36 p.m. just east of Angel Island, Coast Guard Petty Officer Jarvis Petty said.

Coast Guard personnel were dispatched to help the wind surfer, but a good Samaritan boat picked up the person and a Coast Guard crew will escort the good Samaritan boat to shore, Petty said.
