  • An authentic 6,000 pound wood-fired pizza oven specially hand-made in Naples for VIA UNO creates light-as-air pizza crusts and is the only wood-fired pizza on the California coast between Santa Cruz and Mendocino. And it burns only olive wood, just like in Calabria.
  • Along with the pizza oven, the owners imported their talented young chef Giuseppe from their home town in Calabria. A recent culinary school grad, he interprets authentic regional dishes with a dash of fresh creativity.
  • Calabrese specialties you’re unlikely to sample anywhere else unless you take a trip to Italy. Vrasciola di maiale is a tender pork loin, a savory parmigiano replaces eggplant with fresh zucchini. Fresh seasonal vegetables such as Italian beans and Brussels sprouts are hand-selected at Half Moon Bay’s local farms. The wine list features varietals imported from Calabria including a special dry rose.
