• Teaching a Stanford Class with HBS DNA (hbs.edu) — For 35 years, venture capitalist Pete Wendell has taught an oversubscribed Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital elective in Stanford's MBA program, modeled on his Harvard Business School experience. The course brings Silicon Valley founders and investors like Eric Schmidt and Evan Spiegel into the classroom, aiming to give Stanford students practical, case-based insight into launching and funding startups.
   

• California scientist wins Nobel Prize for groundbreaking brain research (usatoday.com) — Stanford neuroscientist Karl Deisseroth has won the 2026 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for pioneering optogenetics, a technique that uses light to control specific brain cells. His work, shared with two German collaborators, is transforming how scientists study complex conditions like severe depression and Alzheimer's disease, bringing global recognition to research rooted at Stanford.
