Dating in Studio City - The Half Plus 7 Rule

How do you figure the age range of the people you’ll date? My last three were 38, 43 and 26 so that’s a span of 17 years and covering off guys in their 20s 30s and 40s.

Most of us have a personal age range but here’s a rule of thumb known as the ‘half plus seven’ rule:

Halve your age then add 7 years so for me it would be (34 / 2= 12) + 7 = 19.

According to the rule the youngest a 34 year old should date is a 19 year old. Wow! He’s not even old enough to go to the bar. This is rule provides the perfect justification for cougars.

If you want to date older you can use the method in reverse by doubling your years then subtracting seven, however, mathematically it doesn’t fit and means you can go a whole lot older. 

Double your age then subtract seven e.g (34x2= 64) – 7 = 57. I think I’ll stick with my personal three decade rule of 20s, 30s and 40s.
