STUDIO CITY, CA — A car careened into a Studio City FedEx store early Wednesday morning in what witnesses describe as a street race involving a Porsche and a Lexus. The drivers fled the scene, leaving the wrecked Lexus resting in the FedEx store.
The crash happened at 3:20 a.m. at the corner of Ventura and Laurel Canyon boulevards. The car slammed into the store in the 12100 block of Ventura Boulevard, said Officer Lizeth Lomeli of the LAPD's Media Relations Section. Lomeli would not confirm that the drivers were street racing, but witnesses said the two cars were in the middle of race when it happened.
When the Lexus slammed into the store, someone in the Porsche, got out, pulled the driver out of the crashed car and drove him away, according to reports from the scene. It's not known if he was injured.
