Burglary Suspect Arrested at Aroma Cafe
A suspect who was said to have a gun (but didn't) was taken away at the popular coffee shop, and then a Crime Scenes Tour bus drove by.
A burglary suspect was arrested this morning outside the crowded The suspect was followed from the at Coldwater Canyon and Ventura boulevards, and the shop, nor the patrons were not the target of any theft.
"He was followed by police and stopped at Aroma," said Hollywood Watch Commander Aaron Ponce of the Los Angeles Police Department. "He was seen taking some of those old fashioned razors that were worth about 20 bucks."
Police said initial reports were that a man had a gun at Aroma, but the suspect had no gun, nor was there any in his car. The suspect's name was not immediately available.

A witness at the coffeehouse, , said, "The cops came in with their guns drawn."
At first, it looked as if they were filming a scene from a movie, and especially when a crime tour bus drove by during the arrest.

The manager at Aroma had no comment about the incident, nor would she say if the store called police. Neighboring store merchants talked to the police and gave whatever information they could.
In an off-beat moment that left customers wondering even more if this was a movie stunt, the Crime Scenes Tour bus drove by, obviously showing the location of the shooting of Robert Blake's wife at across the street, and tourists took photos of the police arresting a man.
Mansfield and , both teachers at , were walking into the coffeeshop when they heard sirens and then the police saying over a loudspeaker, "On the right." Police had their guns drawn as they entered the shop.
Mansfield said, "It's the first time I ever had a gun pointed in my direction."
Terjimanian quipped that "when people see a gun they go fleeing."
But Mansfield reported, "It was a good idea to get out of there fast. The police were smiling and kept saying that everything was all right and were going out of their way to keep things calm."
Police were inspecting a white van involved with the suspect that was parked in front of the coffeeshop.
