Third Woman Accuses Brett Kavanaugh Of Sex Abuse, Attorney Claims

Attorney Michael Avenatti claims he represents a third woman accusing Supreme Court nominee of sexual misconduct.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A third woman is accusing Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct, her attorney announced Monday. Michael Avenatti, famous for representing Stormy Daniels in her legal battle against President Donald Trump, said he represents a "credible" Kavanaugh victim.

Avenatti did not name his client but said she will go public soon. He hinted that she is a top professional with multiple government security clearances.

"My client will prove to be 100 percent credible in her accusations," Avenatti told reporters at a fundraiser in downtown Los Angeles for a group seeking to defeat California Republican congressmen. "This is a very strong, courageous woman who had multiple security clearances over the last few years, issued by the federal government, including a secret security clearance issued by the federal government.

"I'm going to caution (President) Donald Trump, Brett Kavanaugh and Senator (Chuck) Grassley and others that when we publicly disclose her name and these allegations, if they come after my client and seek to discredit her by attacking her, they better pack a lunch because I'm going to respond in kind and then some."

In mentioning Grassley by name, Avenatti is calling out the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, which will hold a hearing on Thursday where both Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford, a research psychologist in Northern California who has accused Kavanaugh of assaulting her when they were teenagers, more than 30 years ago, at a high school gathering in suburban Washington, are both planning to testify. Another woman came forward this week accusing the judge of sexual misconduct a Yale party when he was in college.

Kavanaugh has denied the allegations, taking to Fox News Monday to declare his innocence.

Avenatti also represents former adult-film actress and tell-all author Stormy Daniels, who has filed two lawsuits against Trump.
