A THORN IN THE FAMILY PAW written by Garry Michael Kluger is a delicate tale of love surviving the decades.
Ed Goodman returned from the European theaters of World War II to start his family, and life, with his bride Susie. Over the years the Goodman family grows and changes right along with the world and the times. A Thorn In The Family Paw looks at four days in this family’s life but it’s enough to paint an intriguing picture of the struggles, strength, patience, and understanding it takes to keep moving forward.

Garry Michael Kluger is a fresh new Theatre West member, award winning playwright, published author, working with some of the best actors from previous Theatre West productions: Against the Wall, Without Annette, The Women, Millennium Magic, Petrified Forest and Verdigris.
Arden Teresa Lewis, who directed Theatre West's critical hit The Women and helped bring Jim Beaver’s Verdigris to the stage, now brings us a touch of nostalgia in Mr. Kluger’s A Thorn in the Family Paw.
WRITERS-IN-RESIDENCE is an Annual Series that champions new plays written by the Theatre West playwrighting unit. Two plays rehearse at the same time, then perform back to back. The Series honors what the company has been about since it was established in 1962 -- the collaborative process and sharing new art with the Los Angeles Community.
