1 Killed, 2 Injured In Hwy 12 Head-On Crash
A passenger in one of the vehicles involved in the two-car collision was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

RIO VISTA, CA – One person died and two people were injured in a head-on collision Wednesday night in Rio Vista northwest of downtown, police said.
The two-vehicle collision was reported at 9:05 p.m. on state Highway 12 between Summerset and Church roads.
The cars collided when one heading west crossed into eastbound lane "for unknown reasons," killing the passenger in the westbound car, the Rio Vista Police Department said.

The person was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics, and two other individuals were transported to a hospital, and details on their conditions were not released.
Police had not yet notified the family of the person who died, so they were unable to provide the decedent's name.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
State Highway 12 was closed in both directions and there was no estimate given Wednesday night for when the road would reopen, according to the California Highway Patrol.
