Assemblymember Frazier says: Don't be a target
Solano County residents are invited to a free Scam Stopper workshop on Feb. 12.

Solano County seniors, as well those who are caring for an elderly friend or relative, and individuals who just want to learn how to avoid being scammed are invited to attend a free Senior Scam Stopper workshop on Friday, Feb. 12, 2016.
Co-sponsored by Assemblymember Jim Frazier, the Senior Coalition of Solano County and the Contractors State Licensing Board, the workshop will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at Brookdale-Vacaville, 1111 Ulatis Drive, Vacaville.
During the workshop, experts will explain the many ways people are commonly ripped off, such as fraud involving home and auto repair, Medicare, foreign lotteries and the mail, as well as outright identity theft. Attendees will have their questions answered and receive assistance if they have already been scammed.

Unfortunately, new scams are developed every day and many target the elderly. Seniors, in fact, are the most vulnerable, with 1 in 5 reporting they have been a victim of fraud.
