Assemblymember Jim Frazier recommends California Business Portal to entrepreneurs

A new California website devoted to answering basic questions about starting or running a business in the Golden State is a “great tool” for local entrepreneurs, says Assemblymember Jim Frazier, D-Oakley.
Launched this month by the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz), the California Business Portal is a one-stop website for small-business owners looking for information and assistance.
Found at www.BusinessPortal.ca.gov, the site contains information about starting or relocating a business, obtaining licenses and permits, and navigating state and local regulations. There are helpful links to resources for the most common types of businesses, as well as information about government incentives and import and export programs.
“It’s a great resource for small businesses, one that will make it easier for them to get to work” Frazier says. “This is a great tool.”
GO-Biz’s IT team began working on the portal in 2014, in response to the business community’s request for better on-line tools. Before its debut, the site, which is mobile-friendly and can be accessed on iOS and Android devices, was tested by a group of small-business owners and entrepreneurs. As a result of their feedback, the site reflects content and ease of use that business owners desire.
“California has 3.4 million small businesses, and they are the foundation of our economy,” says Frazier. “This new portal is a way to help them stay viable and to encourage more entrepreneurs to open their doors in our state.”
