High School Nation has become the countryβs largest middle and high school touring agency, placing musical artists in schools to perform during assemblyβs and lunch hours.Β The effort gives exposure to up-and-coming artists, as well as provides students with free entertainment at a time when funding for the arts has been severely cut nationwide.Β Some of the artists who have performed with High School Nation since its inception in 2004, include: Gloriana (on the Taylor Swift Fearless Tour), Jason Castro (American Idol), Tyler Hilton (One Tree Hill), Cody Simpson, and many more.
During the 15-city Festival Tour, High School Nation will take over football stadiums on each of the schoolβs campuses and present a 2-hour concert that will celebrate music and the arts.Β Along with a strong showcase for music appreciation, the festival will highlight journalism, film, fine arts, fashion and photography.Β Student journalists will get the opportunity to meet and interview the musicians and photograph the concert.Β Students will get to visit interactive zones from Guitar Center, Ford, Xbox 360 and Relativity Media. Other groups who will be present on campus include Ernie Ball, DW Drums, Yamaha, Arnette, JamHub, Zoom, The Canvas Foundation, Ultimate Ears and Tulip. Educational partners that will be present include Relativity School of Film, Media and Performing Arts, AMDA Conservatory of the Performing Arts, and Expression College for Digital Arts.

Itβs another step in the long-range strategic planning by HSN Founders Jimmy Cantillon and Kevin Cantillon. βPartnering with Tillyβs and our other sponsors to bring an educational music festival to public school campuses is an honor for this company and for me personally,β Jimmy said. βMusic has played a huge role in my life and I don't think students realize how many opportunities there are out there for them in the arts. You can be a journalist, a photographer, film maker, fashion designer, musician, sound engineer, lighting specialist, to name a fewβ. Jimmy Kevin are looking forward to seeing studentsβ reaction to having a number of artistic professionals in their school and learning about the possibilities that exist for them as they begin thinking about careers.
High School Nation will be making donations to each school on the tour toward their music and arts programs.Β For more information, call Jimmy Cantillon or Kevin Cantillon (310) 734-6527 and visit www.highschoolnation.org and www.tillys.com
