There are lots of ways you can build community. Tutors not only help students succeed in school, they build important relationships. Basketball referees not only give students a safe place to play, but teach teamwork. When you direct a video game tournament, you also introduce important social skills like dealing with frustration and anxiety. When you join the Quad Squad, you not only give students a fun evening of roller-skating, you create an environment to promote the sanctity of childhood.
Fairfield PAL is recruiting volunteers for its new center. There is a short application process (including fingerprinting and a background process administered by the Fairfield Police Department) required to volunteer at the center for anyone 18 years of age and older. All costs are paid for by the PAL program and the process generally takes about 15- 20 minutes per applicant. There is an onboarding session to explain the mandated reporter requirement, introduce the Alive & Free framework, and share tips and techniques to make your time as meaningful as possible. All costs are covered by the program and training is provided. For more information or to start the process, please call 707 249 1379.
