Fairfield Playgrounds First in Nation to Get Playground App

As parents, we all want our kids to be getting the healthy, active, outdoor play that is found on traditional playgrounds. But kids today live in a world beset with digital distractions.

A company called Biba has come up with an inventive way to merge both and Fairfield is one of the very first communities in the US to get this new technology.

Working with parents, teachers, community groups and researchers, a new company called Biba spent months identifying the best ways to combine digital fun and physical play. The result is a family-focused series of free-to-play games that are designed to get kids active again. And studies have shown that kids will play longer, harder and much more often in a Biba-powered playground.

The head of the Biba app family is the Play Tracker, which allows parents, grandparents and caregivers to check on each child’s progress and preferences, letting them plan each play date to maximize everyone’s fun. It also reminds them about play dates on the playground, lets them locate the nearest playground or park and, of course, acts as a one-stop shop for all newly released Biba games.
