Fairfield Shooting Suspect Surrenders To Police

A man wounded when he allegedly exchanged gunfire with another man during a dispute in Fairfield on Monday morning surrendered to police.

FAIRFIELD - A man who was wounded when he allegedly exchanged gunfire with another man during a dispute in Fairfield on Monday morning surrendered to police Wednesday night, police said.

Police identified the suspect as Dvaughn Hill, 20, of Fairfield.

He was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon after he surrendered around 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, police said.

The other shooting suspect, a 20-year-old man from Olivehurst, suffered several gunshot wounds during the shooting around 11:40 a.m. Monday on North Texas Street.

Police said he was in critical condition Tuesday.

Hill, who was shot in the buttocks during the exchange of gunfire, is suspected of shooting an innocent bystander during the exchange of gunfire with the Olivehurst man and then fleeing the scene, police said.

The innocent bystander, a 44-year-old Fairfield man, is in stable condition, police said.

Police received tips from the community and were able to identify Hill as one of the shooting suspects.

Police recovered evidence related to the shooting during searches of residences Wednesday evening in Fairfield and Dunnigan in Yolo County.

Hill was not found at either of the residences, police said.
