Free Immunization Clinic Offered In Vallejo Wednesday

OFFERED WEDNESDAY, MARCH 28, 2012 IN VALLEJO

WHAT:                      Solano County Public Health will conduct a free community Vaccination Clinic Wednesday, March 28, 2012 in Vallejo and will have available T-dap (Pertussis) and seasonal Influenza vaccine.

Pneumonia vaccine will also be available for those 65 years or older with underlying health conditions.                                

WHEN:                      Wednesday, March 28, 2012

TIME:                         10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

WHERE:                    Florence Douglas Senior Center

                                   333 Amador Street

                                   Vallejo, California                                         

WHY:                         FOR THE 2012-2013 school year and future school years, all students entering, advancing, or transferring into the 7^th grade will need proof of an adolescent pertussis/whooping cough (T-dap) booster immunization.  The new school immunization law affects all students in public and private schools.    

Due to the mild winter, seasonal flu has not been as active as in previous years, but health authorities are concerned that the flu may become active this spring.  This vaccination clinic is open to the general public.
