Join the Youth Commission!

Fairfield Youth Commission

It only takes one person to make a difference.....and that person could be YOU!

The City of Fairfield is accepting applications for the Youth Commission. Members of the Youth Commission serve as an advisory body to the Fairfield City Council on community-wide issues or projects having the potential to directly or indirectly impact youth of the community. The Youth Commission interacts with the other City commissions as deemed necessary by project or issue.

Two seats will be available for appointment for two-year terms from December 31, 2016, through December 31, 2018. Applicants must be residents of Fairfield and between the ages of 12 and 21. Mayor Harry Price will appoint the commission members with the approval of the City Council.

The Youth Commission currently meets on the first Monday of the month at 7 p.m. Youth interested in being considered for the commission need to fully commit to making a difference in our community.

Applications are available at the City Clerkโ€™s Office at Fairfield City Hall, 1000 Webster Street, 4th floor. To receive an application by mail or email, please contact Deputy City Clerk Eva Hoff at (707) 428-7402 or at ehoff@fairfield.ca.gov. The positions are under an open recruitment. Applications may be submitted via mail, email, or in person. The City is not responsible for lost or misdirected applications. Applications received after the deadline, including postmarks, will not be accepted. The application deadline is 5 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2016. A timely filed application will remain on file for one year if the applicant is not appointed as a commissioner.
