Man Arrested, Accused Of Assaulting Sister-in Law

BREAKING: The suspect reportedly had two children in the car when he sped away from Fairfield officers.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA – A man was arrested Sunday in Fairfield on suspicion of several offenses including child endangerment and assault with the intent to cause injury, police said.

Officers were dispatched at 9:20 a.m. to the 2000 block of Orange Tree Way where 32-year-old Fairfield resident Carlos Guzman allegedly forced his way into his sister-in-law's home and assaulted her.

Officers arrived and saw Guzman leaving the home in a vehicle and tried to stop him, but he allegedly sped away.

Officers started to chase Guzman until he allegedly started driving through red lights on Air Base Parkway and officers learned he had two children with him, according to police.

Guzman drove to his home and officers were able to arrest him, police said.

Guzman was arrested on suspicion of DUI, child endangerment, evading a peace officer, assault with the intent to injure someone, preventing a person from reporting a crime and violating the terms of his
bail.
