Man Struck, Killed In Fairfield Hit-And-Run: Police

Police identified the man fatally struck on East Travis Boulevard — and asked for the public's help in finding the driver.

FAIRFIELD, CA — A man was hit and killed by a car Thursday morning in Fairfield, and police said they need the public's help in finding the driver who struck him. Police said they received several calls at 6:39 a.m. that a man was lying in the street on East Travis Boulevard, near Chamberlain Drive, and when officers arrived they determined he'd been struck by a vehicle.

East Travis was closed between North Texas Street and Kidder Avenue until 12:05 p.m. Thursday as the Fairfield Police Major Accident Investigations Team — MAIT — established a crime scene and conducted an investigation, Fairfield police Officer Ryann Fuentes said in a news release.

Police identified the man struck and killed as 39-year-old Ricky Acosta, an Arizona resident.
