PG&E Public Safety Shutoff Still Expected In Solano County
As of Tuesday evening, de-energization was still planned for Wednesday morning for nearly 2,000 Solano County customers.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA — Nearly 2,000 PG&E customers in Solano County are expected to be without power starting Wednesday morning in the latest fire-weather related Public Safety Power Shutoff, PG&E officials said Tuesday. Some customers in Napa, Sonoma and Solano counties will lose power between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m., Mark Quinlan, PG&E's senior director for emergency preparedness and response, said.
A National Weather Service red-flag warning is set to begin at 4 a.m., with winds expected to become dangerous around 10 a.m.
PG&E says it needs time to shut off the power.

"It's a process, it's not a switch where everybody's off at the same time," Quinlan said.
According to PG&E, 1,970 customers in the Solano County cities and unincorporated communities of Fairfield, Suisun City, Vacaville and Winters are expected to lose power.

Some customers in the Guerneville area in Sonoma County will not lose power until around 5 p.m. Wednesday before winds pick up around 6 p.m., according to PG&E.
Quinlan said the company hopes to give the all clear at about 8 a.m. Thursday for both areas. That will give crews all day to inspect power lines before turning power back on. The goal is to have power back on by the end of the day Thursday.
Only three Bay Area counties — Napa, Solano and Sonoma — are now expected to be affected by the shutoff after a change in humidity levels reduced the fire risks for areas such as the East Bay and Santa Cruz mountains, according to PG&E.
This latest PSPS is expected to affect roughly 150,000 customers or about 345,000 people in California. PG&E says it contacted affected customers Tuesday with a 24-hour notice.
The utility company is again opening Community Resource Centers with restrooms, bottled water, electronic device charging and air conditioning with seats for up to 100 people at each center. Addresses of the CRCs can be found at Pge.com/pspsupdates.
The resource centers also will provide snacks, ice, blankets and a heater, PG&E said.
PG&E is updating its PSPS web page with information pertinent to the shutoff. Customers can also call 800-743-5000.
