Police Arrest Suspect in Shooting of Suisun City Teen

17-year-old booked on attempted murder charge.

Fairfield police have arrested a 17-year-old in connection with a Wednesday shooting that left a 16-year-old injured.

Police said officers responded at 2:17 p.m. to a reported shooting on Clay Street near Utah Street and located the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was treated and released from the hospital.

Investigators said the victim and a 17-year-old male had gotten into a verbal altercation that led to the suspect shooting the victim.

The suspect, a Fairfield resident, was taken into custody Thursday near his home in the 700 block of San Marco Street.

Police said the suspect was apprehended as he attempted to flee through the backyard of the residence.

Police said the suspect was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and booked into Solano County Juvenile Hall.
