Police Investigating 'Suspicious Death' In Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, CA – The Fairfield Police Department is investigating a suspicious death reported this afternoon when a person was found on West Texas Street.

Police were called at 4:43 p.m. for a report of a man unconscious and not breathing in the 1700 block of West Texas, the department said. Arriving officers found the unidentified male deceased on the grass area on West Texas at Fifth Street, police said.

"Due to the suspicious nature of the incident, the Fairfield Police Major Crimes Unit responded and are investigating," the agency said.

West Texas St. was closed to eastbound traffic at Fifth while the scene is processed. Police did not give an estimated time for the street to reopen. No further information was released.
