Rivers, Roads & Rails
Public invited to view Vacaville Museum transportation display at Assemblymember Jim Frazier's Fairfield office.

The public is invited to attend a reception at Assemblymember Jim Frazierβs District Office in Fairfield to mark the opening of a Vacaville Museum display depicting transportation methods throughout Solano Countyβs history.
βRivers, Roads and Railsβ is a collection of nearly two dozen photographs and artifacts showing how people and goods have been moved in and out of the area since the late 1800s. It includes historic photographs of ferries and schooners in the Delta, horse-drawn wagons in Vacaville, rail operations in Rio Vista, highway construction in Cordelia and Fairfield, and air fields at Travis Air Force Base β all in Assembly District 11.
βAs chair of the Assembly Transportation Committee, I hear about the challenges we face today, whether from farmers wanting to get their crops to market, stores bringing goods from across the ocean, or commuters trying to get to and from work,β said Frazier, D-Oakley. βLooking back at how previous generations met those needs offers a great perspective on todayβs issues.β
