Rochelle Sherlock Honored as Solano County Woman of the Year

Local resident Rochelle Sherlock has been honored as Solano County Woman of the Year for the Third Senate District. In recognition of Women’s History Month, Senator Bill Dodd honored one woman from each of the counties he represents who have made significant contributions in their respective communities.

“I am humbled and honored to have been named for this award,” said Rochelle Sherlock, 2017 Solano County Woman of the Year. “There are so many talented women who make a huge difference for Solano County that I know this could not have been an easy decision for the Senator to make. I also want to thank Senator Dodd for his incredible support of seniors in Solano County and for his advocacy on behalf of women.”

Over a decade ago, Rochelle helped co-found the Senior Coalition of Solano County, a volunteer based advisory body to the Solano County Board of Supervisors. She has continually served as a consultant for the Senior Coalition to help raise awareness about senior issues and provide them with the services they need. Rochelle also founded the Fall Prevention Partnership of Solano County, the Mini-Medical School: Aging with Vitality, and the Dynamic Aging Conference – organizations all dedicated to senior issues.

“I could not name one person who cares more about seniors in Solano County than Rochelle,” said Senator Bill Dodd. “I have been able to work with Rochelle a lot over the past few years, and I am continually impressed with how much effort and dedication she puts into making sure our seniors get the attention they need and deserve.”

Aside from her work with seniors, Rochelle is the founder and CEO of Potentiate, a consulting firm for private companies, government, and non-profit organizations. Rochelle has also volunteered for numerous organizations throughout Solano County. She was a founding member of both 100 Women Who Care Solano County and Give Local Solano County, and has served as a board member of Volunteer Center of the East Bay and the Children Nurturing Project.
