Pair Arrested After Cops Intercept 3,000 Suspected Ecstasy Pills In Mail, Serve Search Warrant In Nearby Davis

DAVIS, CA – A man and woman were arrested Thursday on numerous drug-related charges after police intercepted suspected 3,000 ecstasy pills headed to a Davis address, according to the Davis Police Department.

Law enforcement several weeks ago intercepted in the U.S. mail approximately 3,000 suspected ecstasy pills headed to a Davis address from Germany, and on Thursday, the Yolo County Narcotics Enforcement Team agents served a search warrant on the 400 block of 9th Street in Davis.

Police said that during the search warrant, detectives found materials used to make concentrated cannabis, also called “honey oil,” concentrated cannabis, MDMA pills, along with other items indicative of illegal drug sales and distribution.

Arrested were Cosmos Rothenberg, 25, and Julia Barcia-Bacon, 23, on charges of suspicion of conspiracy to distribute narcotics, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and producing concentrated cannabis.

Both were booked at the Yolo County Jail.
