The suspect demanded cash, telling the employee he had an explosive, officials said.

DALY CITY, CA – A 43-year-old man from Rio Vista was arrested Wednesday in Daly City after allegedly attempting to rob a bank by claiming he had an explosive, and then trying to carjack a motorist, authorities said today.
Daniel Mann was arrested following the report of a bank robbery attempt at about 1:30 p.m. at the Bank of America at 7395 Mission St., according to the Daly City Police Department.
Mann allegedly went into the bank and passed to a teller a note that read he had an explosive device and would use it if not given money, police said.

When that failed as the employee did not give him cash, he fled the bank empty-handed and reportedly attempted to "forcibly" carjack a nearby motorist, which also proved unsuccessful, police said
Mann ran off, but was found several blocks away by officers a short time later. He was booked into the San Mateo County jail for various charges including suspicion of bank robbery, police said.
