“We’ve seen participants who started the workshop with out of control blood sugar, who were overweight, anxious, depressed, arthritic or barely able to walk, make amazing progress in just six weeks,” said Dianna Gonzalez, program coordinator at Area Agency on Aging Serving Napa and Solano.
Guided by an experienced pair of lay leaders, Healthier Living participants learn to manage their symptoms, solve problems and set weekly goals for behavior change. The acclaimed workshop curriculum, created by Stanford University, includes healthy eating, relaxation techniques and ways to exercise easily and safely.
