Suspect Cuffed For Fairfield Shooting

The victim suffered life-threatening injuries in the January incident on West Texas Street, police said.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA – A 22-year-old from Fairfield was arrested today in connection with a January shooting on the 1400 block of West Texas Street in Fairfield that left a victim with life-threatening injuries, according to authorities.

Octavio Trujillo was arrested after a SWAT team served a search warrant on a West Texas residence, the Fairfield Police Department said today.

The shooting occurred Jan. 11. at about 2:20 p.m., and when officers arrived, they found evidence of the shooting in a driveway between two businesses, according to Fairfield police Sgt. Matt Bloesch.

Not long after the shooting was reported, a male arrived at a local hospital, suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower torso. "He was driven there by a friend," Bloesch said. "His injury is considered life-threatening."

Witnesses, at the time, described the shooter as a young male wearing a dark sweatshirt and who fled southbound through a trailer park.

Trujillo was booked into the Solano County Jail on charges of suspected assault with a deadly weapon, being armed in the commission of a felony, possession of a loaded firearm, and possession of stolen property, the department said.

The agency did not provide an update on the victim's condition.
