The fully leased, upgraded facility is being positioned for data center capabilities, underscoring Nvidia's long-term investment in Sunnyvale and signaling strong demand for high-power tech infrastructure in the city.
   

• Two men charged with hate crimes for allegedly shouting anti-gay slurs while attacking SJSU student (mercurynews.com) — A 19-year-old Sunnyvale resident has been charged with a hate crime after prosecutors say he and another man attacked a San Jose State student while shouting anti-gay slurs. The on-campus assault, caught on security cameras, left the victim hospitalized and marks the 14th hate crime case filed this year by Santa Clara County prosecutors.
   

• Bay Area sees more than 1,000 tech layoffs in September (mercurynews.com) — Bay Area tech employers have announced 1,196 permanent job cuts so far in September, including Uber layoffs that affect workers in Sunnyvale as well as San Francisco. While the broader region added jobs overall, tech companies continue to trim staff, with major cuts this year from Meta, Oracle, Amazon, and others.
