2020 Elections Loom Close for One RivCo Candidate
Courtney Sheehan, running for Board of Supervisors District 3, packs her schedule with events and fundraisers

Setting a grueling campaign pace for herself, one Riverside County Board of Supervisors candidate has begun to forgo meals because she is simply too busy campaigning to eat.
"I'm lucky to get one full meal a day, and that's if I can schedule a campaign event at a restaurant," Courtney Sheehan laughs. She filed for the county seat, which encompasses most of Temecula, Murrieta, Hemet/San Jacinto, and the unincorporated areas east of the I-15 out to Anza, in late November. Since then, the former Marine has been "boots to the ground" on her campaign.
"I campaign, either by canvassing, attending meet and greets, or writing post cards, for about 12 hours a day. I'm in school full time and I have a young daughter, so time is limited, but for me this is personal. We need authentic, real improvements in the quality if life here in the valley, and I am the most qualified candidate for this position."

Sheehan's late filing date means that she is working overtime to reach voters in her district. "I find that canvassing is the best way to reach people and make a memorable impact, but after jumping in the race so late, I am doing everything I can to reach voters in other ways as well."
Holding a Bachelors of Science in Political Science, Sheehan is currently studying for a second degree in History at Miracosta College. Her platform is focused on small and local business, traffic reform, and housing affordability, among other items.

"It's my goal to make our county a better place to live for EVERYone here, and I mean everyone." Sheehan says. She is currently preparing for a January 25th fundraiser and organizing Leading the Pack: Democratic Women in Local Politics.
