Dreamy Chance Encounter At Victoria Beach Pirate Tower: Patch Photos

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — On a summer's day in Laguna Beach, you can often spy Patch's favorite resident photographer snapping pictures — this time at the Pirate Tower in Victoria Beach.

If you've never been, this uniquely constructed stairwell is a surreal addition to the private cove, once a favored hideaway of Hollywood actors and moguls.

Cruciana captured the pinnacle moment of the sun rising above the cliff and the peak of the iconic tower in a blast of perspective rarely seen by out-of-town visitors.

Laguna Beach lovers love the stunning water, low cliffs, arches, and the Pirate Tower of Victoria Beach. Many famous residents have called Laguna Beach home, from astronauts to actors.

Buzz Aldrin lived in a quaint Emerald Bay ocean-view cottage. John Steinbeck rented a room in a small shingled cottage on Park Avenue for $15 a month with his wife before becoming a known author. Bette Middler lived in the Norman House that houses the Pirate's Tower of Victoria Beach in the late 1980s. Bette Davis also called the Norman House home in the 1920s.

Harrison Ford and Warren Buffet have called Laguna Beach home, among many other notables.
